Contribute to The TFA

The Thyroid Foundation of America relies on individuals like you to help us raise the funds we need to help others with thyroid problems. We also need your support for outreach programs like our Children of Chernobyl Thyroid Surgical Fellowships and related projects to help the children of Chernobyl. You can help us by an additional contribution when you send in your membership dues, by responding to our fundraisers, or by participating in a TFA event such as our Pat Bradley/TFA Golf Classic, held each fall in the Boston area. You can also help by encouraging donations from your workplace or from a foundation that you know about that offers financial support to non-profit organizations like ours.

We are particularly pleased that over the past 15 years 88 cents out of every dollar goes directly to help thyroid patients. Only 12% goes to fundraising and management expenses. This means that your dollars are well spent.

Remember TFA in Your Estate Plan
When you review your estate plan with your financial advisor, please consider remembering the Thyroid Foundation of America in your will. Major grants of this sort can help us develop an endowment to assure that TFA will be here for patients and their families in the future. For additional information about this topic, consult your financial planner or lawyer.

Matching Gifts from Your Employer
When you make a charitable contribution to TFA, please find out if matching gifts are available from your employer. Many organizations offer this service as a way for you to choose the way in which charitable contributions from your employer will be made. It's also possible to delegate the Thyroid Foundation of America to receive charitable contributions made to organizations like the United Way. Here, too, ask your employer or employee representative at your place of work for help in contributing to TFA in this way.

Major Gifts
If you are interested in making a major grant above $5,000 to the Thyroid Foundation of America, please contact our office directly if you would like information about special projects you could support. Most such gifts to TFA are given as unrestricted contributions so that they can be used to support whatever programs or projects need funding the most. But if you have an idea about a specific project or purpose you would like to support, please contact TFA Headquarters so that we may explore your ideas and interest together.
